Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kangema Campus opened in Muranga County.

In an official ceremony on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, H.E President Dr. William Ruto inaugurated the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kangema Campus in Muranga County.
Accompanying him were his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Health CS Nakhumicha S. Wafula, Muranga County Governor Irungu Kang’ata, MPs Peter Irungu Kihungi (Kangema), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), and Sabina Chege (Nominated).
President Ruto announced a government allocation of Kshs 65 million to equip the Campus for the anticipated student intake in September 2024, emphasizing the need for a conducive learning environment.
He underscored that expanding the College aimed to produce more healthcare workers to achieve universal health coverage.
Additionally, Dr. Ruto pledged Kshs 100 million for the expansion of Kangema sub-county hospital, emphasizing its role in providing practical training sites for students along with improving healthcare accessibility for locals.
The event was attended by Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, KMTC Board Chairperson Joseah K. Cheruiyot, CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, and various leaders.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Oluoch assured students of the College’s commitment to delivering quality training.
