23 Adult Learners To Sit For KCSE Exams This Year

A total of 23 adult learners from Nyando Sub-County will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination this year.

Out of this number, 15 are female and 8 are male. They were registered as private candidates, and they will sit for the examination at Okanja Secondary School.

The Sub-County Adult Education Officer, Mr. Joel Obuya, said that five other candidates, two males and three females, will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination, which will start next week at Okanja Primary School.

Obuya, who was speaking to KNA at Awasi, asked youths and adults in the area who were not able to sit for these examinations for various reasons to enrol in the adult learning schools and utilise that opportunity.

He said that there were 12 adult learning centres in the sub-county that were open to residents who were 16 years of age and older, and that the knowledge acquired would be a gateway for them to enrol in Vocational Training centres for technical courses which include masonry, carpentry, and dressmaking, among others.
