Speaking during the release of the placement results, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome announced that the portal will be opened starting from June 5, 2024, for willing students to apply for transfers to other institutions.
Once placement is completed, KUCCPS opens portal for candidates to have an opportunity to apply for inter-university transfers.
The inter-university transfers enable those students who were not pleased with the institutions in which they were placed to have an opportunity to transfer to the institution of their choice.
Students can change the institution where they have been placed or change both institution and course subject to the applicable cut-off points through the inter-institutional transfer process.
The placement service however warns that this process is not undertaken by everyone as it is dependent on the minimum requirements such as cut-off points garnered by the students and approval by both institutions.
Inter-university transfer
For eligibility of a university transfer, the applying student must have first been placed by the placement service to the program that one is seeking a transfer from.
Also, the program that a student applies to must have been on offer in the year the applicant was placed.
One is only allowed to apply to transfer to one program or course and is only allowed to transfer once for the duration of the program placed.
An applicant is advised to first view the available programs and their requirements before requesting for transfer.
For applications for inter-university transfer, students can visit KUCCPS student portal to submit individual applications before the deadline.
Dr. Wahome during the release of the placement results however noted that the service has not yet set a deadline date as they are giving the students time to decide more on their options.
Upon submitting applications, the student may monitor the progress of their application via the student’s portal.
